From Cachoeiras of Chapada Diamantina.. to the Amazon and Ayahuasca…

For the last month, I have been living in and exploring one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to, called Chapada Diamantina National Park.  Wow, what a magical place it is!  From the enormously dramatic mountains to the valleys full of colored plants and flora to the endless number of mesmerizing waterfalls, to the hundreds of different hiking trails, all of nature was so epic and awe-inspiring!  It was incredible doing all the solo hiking and really being able to connect with nature there.  Even the people I met there were so kind and friendly that I was really feeling at home.  It was so magical that I would find various kinds of crystals from the mountains on the hiking trails.  Since I’ve been in Brazil so far, Chapada Diamantina has been one of the most beautiful places I’ve experienced, and I wish I had more time to spend there, but I will be back someday for sure!

As of today, I have been in Brazil for six months, and it has been epic!  Brazil is truly one of the most magical and beautiful places I have ever visited!  Now, I’m back in Curitiba for a few days so that I can request to spend more time in Brazil.  After filling out a lot of paperwork with the assistance of someone and more than 4 hours at the immigration office, I got approved to stay longer in Brazil. Yay!  Woohoo!!  Muito obrigado Brasil!!!  🇧🇷💚

Next week, I am going to the Amazon and will spend a few months there.  I will be flying into Manaus, and from there, I hope to find an indigenous community, family, or shaman near by to live with and learn from.  My main goal is to deepen my knowledge about the plants and plant medicines of the Amazon and to experience Ayahuasca again, as well as to learn about the indigenous cultures there.  It has been about eight years since I last drank, and I feel somewhat ready, but also slightly nervous.  I’m not sure how I will find Ayahuasca this time, but I have an some idea.  However, you know what they say about Ayahuasca is that “you don’t find her, she finds you.”

P.S. If anyone has any experiences with or questions about Ayahuasca, please get in touch with me directly or leave a comment below.
